A Fantastic temple trip to Sringeri ,Horanadu,Dharmsthala and Kukke Subramanya in JUST 48 hours

          I am just sharing my temple trip experience with you all so that it may be helpful for you in future!.Please forgive me if you find any spelling mistakes .

Since it was a long weekend(24,25 and 26 of JAN) me and my friend Darshan LC tried to book on 22rd  of JAN night to Sringeri.We had planned to book earlier ,but because of our other friends decisions to come or not for the trip,we have to wait till 22nd.So finally AGAIN me and Darshan were prepared for the trip.As we were late for booking to Sringeri,we didn't get theRajahamsa bus instead we got the LAST 2 seats(51 and 52) of Karnataka Sarige bus LUCKILY! at 9.15pm on Friday night(23rd JAN 2009).So on friday me and darshan planned to meet in majestic at 8.30 and we did so.Then we went for dinner in Kamat hotel near majestic.

Then we went to majestic at 9 to see if our bus has come to the platform 5 mentioned in the ticket.But there was was no space for the bus to come for the platform itself  because of plenty of outgoing buses from majestic.So we went in search of the bus going to Sringeri.Finally we saw our bus at 10! in the majestic.

As we had got the last two seats I was worried how to sit in the last seat in a long journey without stretching out my legs.But to our surprise the seat in front of us removed!.We were so happy for that.

So the bus finally left majestic at 10.30pm with difficulty.There was traffic situation near tonelamangala junction because one vehicle was under repair.Half an hour wasted along that road.Then the journey was very smooth in NH-48 along KUNIGAL,Hassan road till Mudigere road.Sine we were seated in the last seat the roads of Mudigere to Chikamagalur waked us up at 3.30.Reached Chikamagalur at 4.30(As per the driver information usually he used to reach Chikmagalur by 3,because of traffic and the bus pick up it was late today)Darshan got up and asked where we are?As soon as I said Heremagalur ,he was very excited and got up and started introducing  the roads and places  in Chikmagalur(He did his BE here).For me it was the first time in Chikmagalur.It was very nice to see the place.

From Chikmagalur the bus faced towards Sringeri where we have had lot of ups and downs along the road providing us the experience which would help in our next 2 days journey.We came across a place called Jayapura before 22 kms from Sringeri which is the junction point if we come from the other route Koppa to Sringeri.So the bus reached Sringeri at 7.30 in the Saturday morning.(Total 9 hours journey)(350 kms from Banglore)

The bus stopped in front of the temple .We  enquired for the temple rooms ,but we got the answer as NO as expected.So we searched for the private lodge.We got Pallavi lodge for few hours with providing hot water for the bath charging us Rs 200.

We got fresh ed up and went ot temple for Sri Sharadamba's darshan.We got special seva pooja and went inside.We were inside the temple for half and hour with the peaceful mind.We also saw  some parents  teaching  their children to write the alphabets in slate inside the temple.

We took lot of snapshots once we came outside the main temple.Take a look of few of these photos.

When we came out of the temple,it was 9.15.We quickly had breakfast outside the temple and left the room for Horanadu.We were informed that lot of buses go from Sringeri to Horanadu.We stood near the temple for the bus.The private bus came exactly at 10 which goes for Horanadu.The cost of each person is Rs 50 . The conductor said that the bus would reach Horanadu by 1.15 in the afternoon and the driver did reach on time .It was a very nice ride enjoying the beauty of NATURE. Towards Kalasa

From Kalasa to Horanadu

Finally we were in  Horanadu at 1.15.We made  the room near the temple for Rs 80 .Kept our luggage,freshed up and went to the temple.We took the ticket for special seva and we were made to sit very close to the God Sri Annapoorneshwari for ten minutes.Then we went for lunch which was very good.

By 2.30 we came out of the temple and asked for the bus to Dharmsthala.We got the information that there is no direct bus to Dharmsthala.We have to go to Kottigehara and then get the bus to Dharmsthala.We missed the goverment bus at 2.15 but we got another private bus to Kottigehaara.

Started at 3 from Horanadu we reached Kottigehaara at 5 in the evening.The roads wre very short and more steep curves.But the nature scenes are really wonderful to watch

From Kottigehaara there are plenty of buses coming from Shimoga.We got one Shimoga bus at 3 and went towards Dharmsthala.Few kilometers on the way the KSRTC bus has hit the side of Innova vehicle in the crossing due to which we got delayed there by 15 mins.

We reached Dharmsthala at 7.15 and luckily we got the room.Since the temple darshan timings was till 8.30,we decided go for it and we did so.There were less number of people and we got the nice view of the Lord Manjunatha Swamy and came out around ten finishing the lunch at ten .Since our mobile charge was down,we saw the charging point ,but there was ONLY ONE charging point for the whole building.So we waited for the charging in the night.

Finally we rested for the day.

We got up early in the morning and decided to see the temple once again as there were few people in the morning.We had tiffin outside after God's darshan and left for KukkeSubramanya around 10.30.

We reached KukkeSubramanya at 12.30 and there was a large number of people inside the temple.Darshan LC blamed me that we would have  come earlier from Dharmsthala,but once the queue was moving fast he calmed down and was happy at last.

Then we moved to bus stand to find out any bus to Bangalore.Again for our LUCK there was an extra bus to Bangalore at 3.30.Darshan LC got down in Sakaleshpur and went to his home through Chikmagalur and me to KUNIGAL.

Co-incidentally we both reached our homes at ten in night.

We never thought that our planned gets executed in this manner.

We both were very LUCKY all the way to go along this temple trip and get the blessings of all the GODS
